The Boys are District Champions!!! It was a great team effort with 11 of the 14 qualifiers scoring points. Combined with the girls championship, this give WHS a sweep of the district championships. The boys outpaced their closest competitor Turpin, 342 to 197. This was a team effort and 11 of the 14 qualifiers scored points. Since this was the first year for boys Div II, all district champions automatically own the district record. WHS now owns 5 district records, (2 of them were WHS records as well) and Cameron Merten established a new WHS diving record. Michael Murphy set two records (medley relay and 100 fly) that are both district and WHS, and he also was part of the 400 free relay that holds the district record. District champions were: Jonathan Proffitt 100 breast, Michael Murphy 100 fly, 200 free relay (AJ Burt, Owen Dunbar, Jonathan Proffitt, Pat Dierker), 400 free relay (Dierker,Zach Fischer, Burt, Michael Murphy), and 200 medley relay (Fisher, Proffitt, Murphy, Dunbar). Both Proffitt (100 breast)and Murphy 100 fly) are seeded 1st at State as is the medley relay team.. What a meet!!! Good luck at State.
