Both the WHS men and the women were victorious. Since they were competing against two stong div I programs, this is a very nice win. The women won 8 of 11 events, while the men won 9 of 11. On the womens side there were multiple winners. Rachel Theiler and Ellie Lebuhn won all four of their races, while Caroline Duke and Sarah Gibbons won three. Sarah Gibbons won the 200 free, while Rachel Theiler was victorious in the 200 IM and the 100 breast. Ellie Lebuhn bested the field in the 50 free as well as the 100 free. Caroline Duke finished first in the 100 fly and also swam in the winning 200 free relay. Both the 200 FR (Lebuhn, S Gilbert, Duke, Theiler) and the 400 FR (Lebuhn, S Gibbons, Duke, Theiler) turned in commanding performances for the win. Great job ladies!
The men dominated the meet against a perennial power, Moeller. Pat Dierker was a 4 time winner as was Eric Lethander. Jonathan Rutter was a triple winner. Pat won the 50 and 100 free, as well as the 200 and 400 free relays. Eric was victorious in the IM, fly and the 200 and 400 free relays. Jonathan Rutter won both of his inividual events and was a member of the winning 400 free relay. He showed his versatility by winning the 500 free along with his favorite 100 breast. John Dreyer had a good effort in winning the 100 back. The 200 FR (Lethander, Karl Ebling, Brennan Burt, Dierker) and the 400 FR (Lethander, Sam Rominger, Rutter, Dierker) were both triumphant. This is especially noteworthy since Moeller can draw from a much larger enrollment. Great job Cowboys!
