The WHS boys had an excellent meet at Canton, where they were state runnerup for the third straight year. The 400 free relay team of Owen Dunbar, Pat Dierker, AJ Burt, and Eric Lethander placed first at prelims and dropped 2.5 seconds in the finals, but finished second to University. Their time of 3:08.77 beat an eight year old WHS record. The 200 free relay team finished 3rd and were very close to another 8 year old WHS record. Pat Dierker (6th 100 free), Owen Dunbar (7th 100 free), AJ Burt (7th 200 free, 7th breast), and Eric Lethander (8th fly, 5th IM) all swam well in prelims and made it to the Championship finals. Jonathan Rutter had an exceptional meet in his 1st trip to Canton as a freshman, finishing 9th in breast and 13th in IM. A great meet by all.
